I have been working on this post for a while now in my spare time, way too long actually! But I have finally finished it and I hope you enjoy reading the responses I received from these fellow food bloggers. I highly encourage you to check out their blogs too 🙂
I asked 10 food bloggers this one question: “What is the number 1 kitchen item you can’t live without and why ?” And here is what they said.
What They Said
Gina, photographer, and recipe developer for Skinnytaste.com and author of The Skinnytaste Air Fryer Cookbook said “I love my air fryer! In fact I love it so much I co-branded my own, the Skinnytaste by Vremi Air Fryer I used to to make everything from breakfast, crispy french fries without all the oil, chicken nuggets, salmon, roasted veggies and even baked desserts!” Skinny Taste features delicious, healthy, family-friendly recipes made with real food. Heidi from foodiecrush.com said “My favorite kitchen item (besides a sharp chef’s knife) is my garlic press. I love pressed garlic over minced because pressed garlic is a smoother taste instead of garlic bites. The press I’ve found that’s closest to my grandmother’s that is still going strong and I hope to inherit from my mom one day is this $4.99 version from Ikea. It’s the best!” Heidi likes to create and share recipes that feature real good, real food made for real people. Follow Heidi on twitter @foodiecrush
Jaime from nogettingoffthistrain.com said “The one kitchen item I can’t live without is my food scale. Back when I was losing weight I bought one to help with portion control, and now I STILL use it daily! 28 grams of chips is not as much as you think, and I’m able to keep myself accountable with a food scale. I also use it when measuring certain ingredients for recipes so I don’t have to dirty a measuring cup!” Jaime is a wife and mother, and obsessed with grocery shopping, she helps people eat better on a budget and survive motherhood ! Danielle from livewellbakeoften.com says
“My favorite kitchen item would have to be my food scale, I use it almost every single day! It’s perfect for ensuring that I get the correct measurements. I usually end up with less dirty dishes too since I don’t have to measure everything out in measuring cups. I highly recommend that every home baker has one in their kitchen!” Danielle teaches people how easy baking can be with simple tips, tricks, and easy to follow recipes that you can start baking amazing desserts and feel more confident in the kitchen. Christy Denny from the-girl-who-ate-everything.com said “The item I cannot live without is my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I use it at least once a day and I can turn it on and forget about it.” Christy is a busy mom of 5, wife, and cookbook author living in sunny Florida. Follow Christy on twitter @GrlWho8Evrythng
Jaime who is a fellow Canadian food blogger, owner of claudiascookbook.com said ” I would have to say the one kitchen item I couldn’t live without would definitely be my KitchenAid mixer. I looooove to bake and it’s a true lifesaver!” Claudia’s blog is about sharing food and cultural experiences from her childhood and family. Follow Claudia on twitter @claudiacookbook
Whitney from thesweetteaspoon.com said “I would say my go to kitchen item is my stand mixer. It allows me to work on other projects in the kitchen. It can mix up batter or buttercream while I take photos, adjust video settings, or create another recipe. It also gives everything a smooth consistency and breaks up any clumps so your finished product looks professional! Stand mixers are pricey but they are worth every penny!” At The Sweet Teaspoon Whitney and her partner Dylan create recipes that are unique, easy to make, and require ingredients that you probably already have. Sally from sallysbakingaddiction.com said “My answer is not baking related- The number 1 kitchen gadget I can’t live without is my garlic press. I really don’t enjoy chopping fresh garlic myself and this has saved me so much time and frustration! I feel like everyone needs one in their kitchen- everything tastes better with fresh garlic ????YUM!” Sally is a mother, baker, blogger, author, photographer, and well-known lover of sprinkles. Jeanine from faithfullyglutenfree.com said “My number 1 kitchen item that I can’t live without is my stand mixer. I invested in a good stand mixer about 12 years ago, and it’s still going strong. It makes it so easy to mix up dough for all my gluten free cookies and breads. Since homemade is much better than store-bought, especially when it comes to gluten free food, my mixer gets used a lot. It has earned it’s permanent spot on my counter top.” After being diagnosed with celiac disease in 2008, Jeanine began writing about her gluten free kitchen adventures. Shareba from insearchofyummyness.com shared “The kitchen item that I can’t live without is a wooden spoon. They’re lightweight, they don’t conduct heat, they don’t react with acidic foods and they last forever. I also love that I can use a wooden spoon to scrape up brown bits from the bottom of a pot and not have to worry about damaging my pans!” Shareba is a digital content developer with experience in food writing, photography and food styling. My Conclusion
I have to agree with all of these foodie experts on their favourite kitchen tools. The only item I do not have is the Air Fryer, but it is on my Christmas list because I have seen so many yummy foods you can make and I’m dying to try them!
However I do have to add my own item to the list which is a blender. I love my Ninja Supra Kitchen system specifically because it comes with a blender, two smoothie cups and a food processor. A food processor is the only way I cut up an onion now because it is so quick and easy, and it doesn’t make me cry ! You can read my review on it here.
Here is a recap of all the kitchen items mentioned:
Air Fryer
This is the Air Fryer Gina from Skinnytaste co-branded.
Garlic Press
Food Scale
This is the exact food scale I have at home except mine is red, and it is so handy.
Stand Mixer
Also the exact stand mixer I have at home, KitchenAid never disappoints.
Wooden Spoon

I completely agree with all the others too. All but the air fryer, I haven’t tried that yet. Maybe Santa will bring me one too. 😉 Thanks for including me!
Your very welcome Jeanine! Thank you for being a big part of my post, you’ve added valuable insight 🙂
