Chocolate Drops

What are Chocolate Drops?
Chocolate drops are cookies that are made by cooking a sweet chocolatey sauce over a stovetop, then mixing in oats and shredded coconut until they are completely covered. Then you simply scoop out the mixture and drop them by small spoonfuls onto parchment paper until set- no baking required!
You may also know them as Chocolate Haystacks. It’s an old-fashioned recipe that has been around for quite some time. After making this recipe you’ll want to add it to your recipe box or bookmark it on your phone and keep it on rotation with all your other favourite cookie recipes and snacks.
This is a quick and simple no-bake recipe with great chocolate flavour. Only 6 ingredients make up these delicious and oh-so-worth-it cookies.
Method
Place 1/2 cup of each margarine, milk, granulated sugar, and cocoa into a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add 2 and 1/2 cups quick oats and 1/2 cup shredded coconut.
Mix until incorporated and drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Let set for 1 hour and enjoy!
Tidbit: I love using these cookie scoops. They come in large, medium, and small. I use medium and small for cookies and save the big scoop for muffins and pancake batter.
