Chewy Nut Blondies
You are going to love these bars because they taste like a soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie with nuts in square form. This blondie recipe makes a large 9×13 pan, so there is plenty enough to go around. If you’ve never had blondies before you need to make these asap!
As I am writing this it is one week before Christmas and I am so excited! My mom and I got together last week and got all our Christmas baking done. We made Butter Tarts, Rolo Cookies, these Chewy Nut Blondies, and one more bar recipe that will be coming soon. Be sure to subscribe to receive all my new recipes and posts. 🙂
Blonde brownies are one of the easiest desserts you can make. They are perfectly dense, rich, chewy, and sweet with a beautiful crinkle on the top.
These are quite delicious on their own but you could also add Skor bits or top with ice cream and caramel sauce for an over-the-top delectably sweet dessert!
Chewy Nut Blondies
In a large saucepan melt 1/2 cup of margarine or butter. Remove from heat and add 2 cups of brown sugar, which adds a depth of flavour! Also, add 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 eggs mixing well after each addition. To that add 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix together until fully incorporated.
Spread in greased 9x13x2 inch pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped walnuts on top. Bake at 325 F for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. You can tell when blondies are done because they’ll start to pull away from the sides of the pan and the edges will be light brown. Be sure not to overcook your blondies or they might turn out overly hard and dry.
These also freeze wonderfully. After cooling you can cut them up into squares and place them into freezer-safe bags or containers. Simply take them out when you are ready to eat, and they still taste great!
We will be enjoying these Chewy Nut Blondies on Saturday when we have my family Christmas and I can’t wait to bite into another one of these blondies 🙂
Are Blondies Supposed to be Gooey?
You bet! They are supposed to gooey in the middle! When you take it out of the oven it will be quite wobbly in the middle. This ensures a nice soft, moist texture. If you overbake them, they can become quite dry. On the contrary, be sure not to underbake them, you don’t want them too wet in the middle either.

What is the Difference Between a Brownie and a Blondie?
The main difference is the chocolate. Brownies are made with melted chocolate or cocoa mixed into the batter before baking. While blondies are left to be lighter in color.
