Five Oatmeal Combinations to Kickstart your Mornings
You don’t need a big fancy breakfast to feel satisfied in the mornings. At times it is the easiest combinations that can please your appetite. These Five Oatmeal Combinations are absolutely delightful. They taste gourmet but are actually very simple to prepare and you can revel in them free of guilt.
Oats are full of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals which makes them an excellent breakfast to kickstart your morning.
How to Make Oatmeal
There are two simple and quick ways I like to make oatmeal in the morning. Let’s go over the base ingredients first:
- 1/3 cup of oats
- 2/3 cups water, or milk, or 1/3 cup of each.
- pinch of salt
The first cooking method is to use the stovetop. For a single serving of oatmeal place 1/3 cup of uncooked rolled oats into a pan along with your liquids of choice. I prefer using 1/3 cup each of water and almond milk in mine. Stir in a pinch of salt and set on medium heat. Cook until it comes to a light boil and has thickened, about 3-4 minutes, then serve in a bowl.
The second method is to cook in the microwave. Place 1/3 cup of oats into a large microwavable bowl, along with 2/3 cup of water. Make sure it is large enough your oats won’t boil over. Stir in a pinch of salt. Cook on high for about two minutes stirring halfway. Depending on your microwave you may need more or less time, just keep an eye on it. Once cooked let rest for two minutes.
Now that you have cooked the oatmeal, you can now add your oatmeal toppings. I have come up with these Five Oatmeal Combinations to help you kickstart your morning.
