How to Make Double Chocolate Banana Bread

Very easy to make, just follow the simple instructions below and you’ll be taking out a freshly made loaf in about an hour and 15 minutes from start to finish.

Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease a standard loaf pan and cut a piece of parchment paper to fit the bottom.

In a medium bowl combine 1 and 1/4 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of cocoa, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set aside.

Mash 3 bananas in another bowl. Add 1/3 cup of melted butter or margarine and combine. I used my Kitchenaid stand mixer for this part. Stir in 3/4 cups of packed light brown sugar, 1 room temperature egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until just incorporated. Stir in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.

Pour batter in your prepared loaf pan and sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top.

Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Let cool completely in pan on wire rack before removing. Serve when cooled.

I can’t wait to hear what you think of this Double Chocolate Banana Bread 🙂

This is a really nice Double Chocolate Banana bread. If I make this again, I might add a teaspoon or two of coffee or cinnamon for depth. Overall really nice. I did add a bit of coarse sugar to the top for crunch. Thanks for the recipe!
