Winter Favourites 2021
Welcome to a brand new Favourites post- Winter 2021 edition! It is always fun to write these posts and to share what I’m currently loving! I can’t believe we are almost at April already! Though I am not complaining at all. I absolutely love Spring and Summer and can’t wait to see what this next quarter will bring 🙂
Read on to see my current faves!
Winter Favourites 2021
1. Light Your World Soy Candle
The first item on my list of favourites is this sweet smelling candle. It is from Light Your World Candle Company and the scent is Butter Rum Cappuccino. It is a 100 % soy wax candle which I love because I try to stay away from harsh chemicals whenever I can. I received this candle from my sister in law at Christmas and I’ve been enjoying it ever since. She bought it at a local store here called Willow Clothing and Collectibles. I love to light a candle during my morning quiet time while I drink my coffee and write blog posts- which is what I am doing now as I write this.
2. BeautyPrep Hyaluronic Serum
This serum is another Jane Iredale product which I’ve mentioned before in previous posts, and will probably continue to because I just love all of their products. I added this product to my daily night time skincare routine and I have loved the results. This product promotes a healthy, radiant complexion for all skin types and I have to say that’s been true for me. I have noticed a brighter and smoother skin complexion when I wake up in the morning.
I do have some acne on my face, but this product did not affect the acne at all, it stayed the same. My skin however did look smoother and brighter like I said, and just felt overall healthier to be honest.
Some more benefits of this Hyaluronic acid serum are as follows:
- Adjusts the rate of moisture absorption based on relative humidity in the air.
- Provides long-lasting hydration.
- Reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines for more youthful skin.
- Calms and soothes the skin.
- Delivers a powerful antioxidant.
- Creates a protective barrier.
- No sulfates, parabens or phthalates. (source)
3. Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals Foundation
I used this foundation a couple of years ago, then switched to a cheaper brand of foundation, but I had to come back to this one because I found it to be a lot better. It’s basically a pigmented serum which provides sheer to medium coverage. Provides hydration, diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimizes the appearance pores, evens out skin tone and adheres so well, there is minimal transference. It is a hydrating, light reflecting formula, and it actually reminds me of the serum above because it also has hyaluronic acid in it, but in a pigmented foundation form.
I love wearing makeup that is also good for your skin and feels healthy and radiant!
4. Long-Sleeve Cozy Leopard Bodysuit
I bought this bodysuit from Abercrombie.com at the end of January and I love it! It is so flattering and perfect for those days you want to tuck your shirt in your pants or skirt because a bodysuit won’t show a line at the bottom like a regular shirt would! I like to wear this bodysuit to church especially with a skirt. It is currently still on sale for $15.99, regularly $55! It also comes in a light grey leopard print too.
5. Ocean’s Apart by Karen Kingsbury
I just read this book in January/February and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I have read a few of Karen Kingsbury books already, and plan to read them all actually- one book at a time. I just borrow the books from our local library. This particular book Ocean’s Apart has been one of my favourites of her books that I have read so far. This book is about a forgotten secret that gets brought up with a shocking discovery. It is a tale of true forgiveness, and by the end I was teary eyed.
6. Double Chocolate Banana Bread
This is another great quick bread recipe you’ll want to grab and make asap! Basically a banana bread with the addition of cocoa and chocolate chips for double the chocolate flavour. Chocolate lovers everywhere will need this bread in their life!
7. New Home Decor
I received a Home Sense gift card for Christmas and I knew exactly what I wanted to spend it on. I had an old mirror that I wanted to hang up in our entrance, as there is a ledge high up on the wall, it would hang up perfectly in that little space. I just needed a couple of decor items to sit on top of the ledge to make it complete. So I packed up the kids and we went to Home Sense. Right away I found exactly what I wanted. I found these two tall candle holders with the cream coloured candles. Then I saw this pretty blue vase that would go great with the paint colours. I thought of putting some fake plants or feathers in the vase but felt it didn’t really need anything.
My step dad brought his ladder over and hung up the mirror for me and I placed the new decor on the ledge and I am so happy with how it turned out! I am in no way a home decor designer but I think I did pretty good with this one if I do say so myself. I still have a lot of decorating to do through the rest of the house, but one room at a time.
I showed a picture on Instagram, just follow me here, to follow along on a more personal level.
8. think! High Protein Bar
This is my new favourite protein bar. I have only tried the Lemon Delight and Creamy Peanut Butter Flavours which are both delicious but the lemon is my favourite. They contain 20g of protein, 0g of sugar, are gluten free, and gmo free. They are great for after my workout or if i just need a more filling snack. I buy them at Walmart.
9. XS Energy Drink – Cranberry-Grape Blast
This is my all time favourite energy drink. It gives you a blast of energy but without all the sugar that are in many conventional energy drinks out there. This drink is packed with 80 mg of caffeine, mega doses of B vitamins, 1–2 g of carbs and only 10 calories per can. Both my husband and I love this drink for that little extra boost we need throughout the day, and it tastes delicious too! Our favourite flavour is the Cranberry-Grape Blast, but it comes in 6 more flavours and you can also purchase a variety pack.
I hope you enjoyed reading this seasons favourites! What have you been loving this past Winter?
