2025 Spring Favourites collage of favourite things.

Spring Favourites 2025

Bag of Truvani plant based protein powder vanilla.

Truvani Protein Powder

This protein powder is plant-based and made with just a few clean ingredients. Even though it’s made with clean ingredients, it tastes really good. I love to add protein powder to my smoothies to increase the protein and make them taste smoother and delicious. This protein powder even tastes good mixed in my Greek yogurt and baking. I’ve only tried the vanilla flavour because you can use vanilla in everything, and just add your own ingredients to make different flavours.

The Ordinary Skincare

I’ve recently switched from Dime Beauty to The Ordinary Skincare because the U.S to Canada price and cost of shipping was just too much at Dime. So I decided to try The Ordinary because it was recommended by The Acne Protocol and is a fraction of the cost. I purchased it from Sephora. So my new skincare lineup is The Squalane Cleanser, Hyaluronic Acid (hello dewy complexion), Niacinamide (also known as Vitamin B3, which helps to rebuild skin cells and fight acne by regulating sebum production on the skin), and Squalane Oil (as a moisturizer). So far, my skin is loving it. I haven’t had any reactions from it, and it is a very gentle lineup, great for acne-prone skin. My only thing is that I run out of it a lot faster than I did with my Dime products.

Face oils often get a bad rap, but squalane oil does wonders for the skin. The squalane oil only has one ingredient and won’t clog your pores. It deeply nourishes and helps repair & protect the skin barrier.

The Heritage Store Rose Water Toner

The other product recommended by The Acne Protocol was this toner. I ordered from Walmart online. Also, a very affordable option. It’s soothing, antibacterial, and effective, but won’t damage the skin barrier.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

Once again, another product recommendation from The Acne Protocol. Sunscreen is important to protect the skin from further damage and scarring. It’s honestly a little bit pricey, but if you’re only using it on your face, it should last a long time. I only use it on my face and use other sunscreens for the rest of my body. It’s a 100% invisible, weightless, scentless sunscreen that delivers broad spectrum SPF protection & doubles as a primer with a natural finish. So you can apply your makeup right over top and go on with your day.

Wilton Cake Decorator

I’ve been wanting a cake decorator with the bags and tips for a while now, and finally purchased this one. I mostly need a cake decorator for my kids’ birthday cake, but I will use it for special occasion baking and my food photography as well. I used it for this amazingly delicious cheesecake pictured. It comes with 55 tips to choose from. The only thing is that you have to purchase the bags separately.

Reese’s Cheesecake

If you’re a fan of the classic chocolate and peanut butter combo like me, you’ll fall head over heels for this Reese’s Cheesecake recipe! This dessert is a showstopper with a rich and creamy filling packed with peanut butter flavour, a crunchy chocolate cookie crust, and plenty of Reese’s cups. I brought this to a friend’s birthday party and everyone loved it!

Traditional Medicinals Tea

This is not a new love for me, but one that I’ve had for a while now, but I had to include it. I love to drink tea before bed now, and the only brand I usually purchase from is this one because it is organic and uses compostable bags. My go-to evening teas are: Lemon Balm, Peppermint, and Spearmint. If I have one in the afternoon, I’m having Hibiscus.

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

My newest recipe on the blog is these white chip chocolate cookies. Even though it’s new on the blog, we’ve been making these cookies since I was a kid. They are essentially inside-out chocolate chip cookies. They’re soft, fudgy, and packed with creamy white chocolate. An easy, crowd-pleasing recipe you’ll bake again and again!
