Chocolate Protein Green Smoothie
You are going to love this Chocolate Protein Green Smoothie because not only is it very tasty but it is full of healthful ingredients. An easy-to-make healthy snack you can take with you on the go. Great post-workout or just as a filling snack.
Today I am sharing my favourite everyday protein smoothie recipe…Chocolate Protein Green Smoothie!
I love smoothies because there are so many different variations you can make. They are a quick and easy snack you can bring on the go. And most of all they are usually packed with a ton of nutrition. And on top of all that they taste delicious.
This Chocolate Protein Green Smoothie contains chocolate protein powder, banana, plain greek yogurt, spinach, peanut butter, and milk. I also like to add an extra scoop of collagen powder sometimes as well. This step is not necessary and is completely optional. Collagen helps improve the health of your hair, skin, nails, joints, ligaments, and tendons. I use Vital Proteins Bovine Collagen Powder.
This particular smoothie features Vega Chocolate Protein & Greens Powder. This is a plant-based powder with added greens. It has 20 grams of protein per serving, only 120 calories, and 1 gram of sugar. It is also gluten-free, vegan, has no added sugar, and has no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives. I highly recommend it. However, you can use any chocolate flavoured protein powder you want.
I am a big chocolate and peanut butter fan so the thought of it in a smoothie was a no-brainer. This recipe gets its chocolate flavour from the chocolate protein powder, however, you can just add 1-3 teaspoons of cocoa instead if you don’t have protein powder.

Chocolate Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1/2 frozen sliced banana
- 1 scoop Vega Protein & Greens Chocolate flavoured
- 1/2 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup of milk
- optional: ice
- optional: Collagen Powder
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
Tidbit: Using bananas that are on the riper side will up the sweetness in your smoothie. As soon as you see a few brown speckles on your bananas slice them up and place them in the freezer. Add them to your smoothie whenever you’re ready.
Is Chocolate Protein Powder Good in Green Smoothies?
Definitely! I believe the chocolate adds great flavour to green smoothies and helps mask that “green” taste some smoothies can have. The only downside is it gives it an off-green colour rather than a bright green colour which is less appetizing to the eye. But, the flavour will be totally worth it. The spinach adds great nutrition so you don’t want to skip it either.
