You are going to love this Sugar Cookie Body Scrub because it smells amazing, has many health benefits, and feels like a spa treatment at home!

I recently published these delicious Lemon Cut-Out Sugar Cookies and I wanted to follow up with this Sugar Cookie Body Scrub. Both would make great gifts!

This body scrub smells amazing, and though all ingredients can be found in your pantry, and therefore edible, I wouldn’t advise eating it, as it is mostly just sugar and oil. This easy DIY recipe is quick to whip up and only uses 6 ingredients. Also, a very frugal body scrub as it is a lot cheaper than many store-bought body scrubs out there.

So make up a batch for yourself and then make a few extra for family and friends! There are a lot of cute jars out there that you can use for gifts too.

Sugar Cookie Body Scrub Ingredients and Benefits

Here’s what you need to make this Sugar Cookie Body Scrub. You can find the full printable recipe below.

  • Sugar: This recipe uses a combination of white and brown sugar. Sugar is great for hydrating, moisturizing, and exfoliating the skin. And exfoliating the skin helps to bring blood flow to the surface of the skin.
  • Cinnamon: Not only does cinnamon add a beautiful aroma to the body scrub but it is also very beneficial to your skin as well. The anti-fungal, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of cinnamon make it effective against acne and skin blemishes.
  • Nutmeg: reduces pigmentation, gently exfoliates your skin, helps shrink your pores, and it also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help prevent acne. Plus, it also adds to the sugar cookie aroma of the body scrub!
  • Vanilla: The main purpose of the vanilla extract is to add a sweet smell to the body scrub. However, if you use an organic vanilla bean extract then the benefits can also be amazing for you skin. The vanilla bean is anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory, all great benefits for the skin!
  • Olive Oil: Olive oil moisturizes, hydrates, and fights bacteria on the skin.

How do you make Sugar Cookie Body Scrub?

This Sugar Cookie Body Scrub is so simple to make and only uses 6 ingredients!

Simply place 1/4 cup of white sugar, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, a dash of nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Mix together and place in a pretty jar or container.

When ready to use just grab a small amount with your fingers and rub it onto any areas of your body you want to exfoliate. Rinse, and enjoy your beautifully smelling and exfoliated skin!

How long do Homemade Body Scrubs last?

A general rule is about 6 months. Just be sure to use a container or jar that has a tight lid, which will keep the oil from going rancid. If the oil goes rancid, you will be able to tell the difference by the smell of your scrub.
