An easy classic Chicken Parmesan recipe the whole family will love. This recipe features seasoned breaded chicken and of course a generous sprinkling of parmesan and baked to perfection. Serve with spaghetti and tomato sauce for a classic italian dish.

Chicken Parmesan is a meal staple for many households. And, although it is a beloved Italian dish, it is very popular around the world. It is probably one of the most ordered dishes in Italian and even American restaurants today. And, though most have tried this dish before…have you ever made it from scratch?

This recipe is a great classic and easy recipe to begin with. Whether you are making it for a nice family dinner or perhaps an at-home romantic date night. This recipe will not disappoint.

How do you make Chicken Parmesan from Scratch?

Combine the following ingredients into a shallow bowl (or a pie plate works great too): 1/2 cup of fine cracker or bread crumbs, 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, 3/4 teaspoon of paprika, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of celery salt, 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of dried oregano.

Brush 3 lbs of chicken breasts with 1/4 cup of melted butter or margarine. Coat each piece of chicken in the bread crumb mixture. Arrange in single layer on greased baking sheet or dish with sides. Bake in 350 degree oven covered for about 60-75 minutes until chicken is tender and an internal temperature reaches 165 F/74 C. I always use a thermometer to make sure meat is fully cooked.

What goes well with Chicken Parmesan?

For the traditional Chicken Parmesan dish, serve with spaghetti noodles and your favourite tomato sauce. For a lighter option, you can serve with spiralled zucchini noodles over regular spaghetti noodles.

Chicken Parmesan is also delicious eaten in a sandwich or sub.

You can also serve it with a side salad, or caesar salad, and garlic toast for the ultimate meal.

And, don’t forget dessert. There are so many desserts on the blog. Here is just a handful of suggestions.
