You are going to love this Peanut Butter Frosting because it is smooth, creamy, and has a nice light peanut butter flavour! The perfect frosting for chocolate cakes, banana cakes, cupcakes, and even brownies.

This fluffy frosting is made up of five tasty ingredients- butter, peanut butter, icing sugar, vanilla, salt, and milk. Simple to make, all you have to do is whip all the ingredients together in a stand mixer or handheld mixer and you produce this fluffy peanut butter frosting that holds shape well, perfect for frosting and decorating!

I decorated my moist chocolate cupcakes pictured here with this peanut butter frosting and the results were so good! Chocolate and peanut butter, in my opinion, is one of the best flavour combinations out there. I placed some chopped peanuts and mini chocolate chips on top for the ultimate cupcakes that were pretty and delicious. Another idea would be to place chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups on top!

The frosting recipe is enough for 12-24 cupcakes (depending on how much frosting you use on each cupcake), a 9x 13 inch sheet cake, or a 2-layer cake. You can always double the recipe if you need more.

Peanut Butter Frosting

Beat 1 cup of unsalted butter on medium speed until fluffy. Beat in 1 cup of creamy peanut butter, 1/2 cup of icing sugar, 2 and 1/2 tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt.

Gradually beat in another 3 and 1/2 cups of icing sugar, beating well after each addition until smooth.

Frost your cakes, cupcakes, brownies, etc, however you desire. In the pictured cupcakes I piped a basic swirl using The Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator with the open star tip.

Enjoy immediately or cover tightly and store for up to 1 week in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer. To defrost thaw in the refrigerator overnight then beat on medium speed to make it creamy and fluffy again.
