Apple Cinnamon French Toast Casserole

Are you a French toast fan? Maybe you’re an apple cinnamon flavour fan? Well if so, this Apple Cinnamon French Toast Casserole is for you then! Very simple to throw together, and place in a casserole dish. Toss some cubed bread and chopped apple into your casserole and pour the sweet milk/egg mixture over top. Let the mixture sit in the fridge overnight to really soak up all that flavour. Pop it in the oven in the morning and bake until perfection is ready for breakfast.

Pour some maple syrup over top to get the full French toast experience.

This casserole serves 6, it’s a great dish to make if you are feeding a crowd for breakfast or brunch. Prepped the night before so all you have to do is bake it in the morning.

Apple Cinnamon French Toast Casserole

Grease an Place 3 and 1/2 cups of cubed bread and 3 peeled and chopped apples into your prepared dish.

Whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 and 1/4 cup of milk, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla. Pour evenly over the bread mixture. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and place in fridge anywhere from 3hours- to overnight.

When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 F.

Bake uncovered for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown. If browning too quickly, loosely cover with foil.

Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup.

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups bread cubed
  • 3 apples peeled and chopped
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon ground
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Grease an 8×8 inch dish with butter or non-stick spray.

  2. Place 3 and 1/2 cups of cubed bread and 3 peeled and chopped apples into your prepared dish.

Recipe Notes

Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Can be frozen baked or unbaked up to 3 months. If baking from frozen let thaw overnght in the refrigerator and bake as directed. 

To reheat baked casserole, place in a 350 F oven for about 35 minutes or until warmed through.
