Gluten-Free Bread
You are going to love this homemade Gluten-Free Bread because it is easy to make, and baked in a bread machine. Just throw all the ingredients in and let the bread machine do the work for you. This is the best gluten-free bread you will make and it will be hard not to eat the whole loaf after you try it!
Before Christmas, I did a six-week elimination diet and one of the things I eliminated from my diet was gluten. So even though I eliminated many foods from my diet, I also tried many new foods and recipes which made it fun. I utilized recipes that I already had on my blog such as Sweet Potato Brownies. I have a big sweet tooth so I still wanted to get my sweet fix in but without all the gluten and sugar most baking and foods have in them.
I don’t eat as much bread as I used to but I still love a good slice every now and then. From just a slice of toast with my homemade apple strawberry jam for breakfast to sandwiches and even to replace burger buns. I definitely needed to find a bread replacement. I tried the store-bought brands of gluten-free bread and to be honest they weren’t bad, depending on the brand, but I wanted to experiment with my own homemade gluten-free bread too.
I had made a good gluten-free bread in the bread maker and I thought it was time to experiment with making my own gluten-free version, and this recipe was born.
This bread tastes better than store-bought gluten-free bread. The texture has a nice spring to it. If you are gluten-free whether by choice or for your own health reasons then this bread is for you. You will find yourself making this recipe over and over again! Be sure to share with your gluten-free friends and neighbours too!

Gluten Free Bread
I like to get all my ingredients prepped and measured beforehand. You will need the following:
- 1 and 1/2 cups warm milk (can be dairy or dairy free)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 cups of gluten free flour
- 1 and 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 and 1/2 tsp xanthum gum (skip if your flour already has it)
- 2 and 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp instant yeast
Add wet ingredients to your bread machine. Then add the dry ingredients, adding the yeast in last. When adding the yeast create a little hole in the dry ingredients and pour the yeast into the hole.
Set your bread to the gluten-free baking setting and press start. If your bread machine does not have a gluten-free setting, I have tried it on basic and sandwich settings and the bread still turned out. The batter will seem quite wet and will be similar to a cake batter, but don’t worry that is normal.
Let cool before slicing.
This gluten-free bread is best served warm or toasted in my opinion. Store in a sealed bag or container and place in the fridge if you are not eating right away. You can also freeze this bread if you need to keep it longer.
This bread is delicious served warm or toasted with a generous spreading of this Apple Strawberry Jam.
