Ingredients in Peanut Butter Date Balls

  1. Pitted Dates: There is a myriad of health benefits in dates. They are a source of anti-oxidants, can be good for blood sugar balance, help reduce blood pressure, contain a brain booster called choline, and help maintain bone mass (source). Dates are also naturally sweet which gives these balls their sweet and chewy texture.
  2. Natural Peanut Butter: Peanut butter helps add a smooth texture to these balls as well as add a nice peanut butter flavour. You want to purchase natural peanut butter to stay away from added sugar, and oils that come with processed.
  3. Oats: This nutrient-rich food helps give you energy as it is a whole grain and provides fibre, vitamins B & E, healthy fats, and antioxidants.
  4. Dark Chocolate: One of the best sources of antioxidants. Choose vegan chocolate to make these balls vegan.
  5. Chia seeds: High in fibre, protein, and omega-3’s.
  6. Vanilla: add’s flavour.
  7. Sea salt: balances out the sweetness.

These no bake balls reminds me of Larabar’s but in ball form. Larabar’s are one of my favourite bars so these balls are the perfect homemade alternative.

How to Make Peanut Butter Date Balls
