Pressure Cooker Steel Cut Oatmeal

You are going to love this Pressure Cooker Steel Cut Oatmeal because it is quick, easy, and healthy. This creamy oatmeal has maple and cinnamon to give it a delicious sweet flavour. Recipe serves 2 people.

I absolutely love my Ninja Foodi All-in-one Pressure Cooker. It stays on my counter for much of the time because I use it almost everyday. From hard boiled eggs, to casseroles, to stews, and now oatmeal!

I had some steel cut oats sitting in my pantry for awhile, so I thought I would try my hand at a pressure cooker oatmeal version. Let me tell you, it is my new favourite way to make steel cut oatmeal. It is a quick dump and go recipe so you can let it cook while you finish getting ready for work, or relax for a bit while the pressure cooker does its thing. Soon, you have a delicious Steel Cut oatmeal ready for serving.

Health Benefits of Steel Cut Oats

There are many health benefits to eating steel cut oats. One of them being that oats are loaded with soluble fiber, which helps lower cholesterol. They are beneficial to promote anti-inflammatory integrity in the intestinal bacteria. Steel-cut oats are also less processed than old fashioned rolled oats and have a lower Glycemix Index.

Pressure Cooker Steel Cut Oatmeal

Simply place 2/3 cups of steel cut oats 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of water, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup, and a pinch of salt to your pressure cooker. Stir.

Place the pressure cooker lid on top with valve set to seal. Pressure cook on HI for 3 minutes. After cooking let it naturally release(takes about 20 minutes). Lift lid and give another stir. Portion into two serving bowls.

Feel free to add an extra drizzle of maple syrup to the top of the oatmeal. Also, fruit is an excellent addition to oatmeal. Bananas, blueberries, and apples are all delicious add-ons to oatmeal. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • cup steel cut oats
  • 1 cup milk
