Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 6 tortillas 5-6-inch
  • 6 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • burger sauce store-bought or homemade
  • pickles, shredded lettuce, diced onion optional toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.

  2. Mix up the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder.

  3. Divide the beef into 6 even-sized balls.

  4. Place a small ball of beef directly onto a tortilla. Use parchment paper and a heavy spatula or pan to smash it flat into the tortilla. Alternatively, you can place the ball of beef directly in the skillet and place a tortilla on top and press down. Make sure that the beef patty is very thin and covers most of the tortilla, or it will take too long to cook through.

  5. Carefully place the tortilla (beef-side down) onto the hot skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the beef is browned and crispy.

  6. Flip the wrap, reduce the heat to medium, and top the beef side with a slice of cheese.

  7. Let the tortilla toast and the cheese melt for 1–2 more minutes.

  8. Remove from heat and add your favourite burger toppings: sauce, lettuce, pickles, onions—whatever you love!

  9. Fold it up like a taco or roll it burrito-style. Serve hot!

Recipe Notes

  • Great served with fries, chips, or a simple salad.

  • These are best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored and reheated in a skillet within 3 days.

  • Calories vary depending on the amount of toppings added, but are typically around 490 calories.
