A mouthwatering basic burger that will satisfy your tastebuds.
In a medium bowl whisk together egg, salt and pepper. Place the rest of the ingredients into the mixture and mix until blended. Form into patties.
Cook until no longer pink in the center and reaches an internal temperature of 170° F.
BBQ: to barbecue the burgers, heat your grill to high. Lightly brush the burgers with oil on each side and grill the burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the first side, about 3 minutes. Flip over the burgers, and cook for about another 4 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 77°C/ 170°F.
Stovetop: Preheat a cast-iron skillet or stainless steel frying pan over medium-high heat. Optional: you can toast the buns before cooking up the burgers by buttering the insides of the buns and placing the buttered side down in the hot pan for about 1-2 minutes, until golden brown and toasted. Set aside.
Swirl a pat of butter in the pan and place your burgers in the pan, leaving a little space in between each. You may need to cook in batches. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 77°C/170°F.
Once cooked place on a bun and assemble as desired.
Raw patties freeze well, just place parchment paper between them. Take out just before cooking, no need to thaw out first. May need to increase cook time.
